Film screening and discussion with director Marcel Barrena.
"EL 47" is the inspiring true story of a man, a bus and the fate of a neighborhood. In the 1960s and 1970s, the outskirts of Barcelona were formed and built mostly by immigrants from Extremadura and Andalusia who built the neighborhoods with their own hands, but they are not considered part of the city.
Fed up with the Barcelona City Council claiming that public transport could not reach the Torre Baró neighborhood because the streets were too narrow and unsafe, Manolo Vital, one of his neighbors and a TMB bus driver, proposed to demonstrate behind the wheel of 'EL 47', that the authorities were wrong.
