
From September 19 to 21, the pedestrian island will be expanded and closed to traffic and on Sunday there will be a popular pedal ride, which will pass through a new section of shared path for pedestrians and cyclists on the Congost promenade.
Once again, La Garriga joins the European Mobility Week, an event that aims to promote more sustainable, safe and healthy mobility habits.
Thus, on the occasion of Car Free Day, from September 19 at 5 pm, and until Sunday 21, La Garriga will expand the pedestrian island between c. Banys with c. Blancafort and c. Calàbria with ctra. Nova.
New shared path
On Sunday, a popular cycle ride will also be held, the novelty of which is that it will pass through a new section of shared path for pedestrians and cyclists on Passeig Congost, between Carrer Farrans and Carrer Moranta. This change will make this section of the street south-facing only, allowing for more space for pedestrians and bicycles and calming down traffic. In addition, the parking lot has been modified, placing it on the riverside, at the request of the neighborhood.
The pealada, organized together with the Club Ciclista la Garriga, will leave at 9 am from Plaça de l'Església, following this route: Plaça de l'Església – Passeig del Doctor Vich – Nostra Senyora de la Salut – Plaça del Silenci – El Passeig – Carrer Guifré – Avinguda Generalitat – Carrer de Can Terrers – Passatge Vil·la Romana – Carrer Satèl.lits – Carretera Nova – Monument to Josep Segú – Avinguda Sant Esteve – Camí dels Horts – Passeig Congost – Pont de Can Noguera – Passeig Congost – Carrer Moranta – Passeig Congost – Parc dels Pinetons.
There will be breakfast and an inflatable circuit in Parc dels Pinetons. In addition, a gift will be given to participants.
