Cartell de la Festa Major de la Garriga 2026

From July 30 to August 3, the Festa Major de la Garriga will combine tradition, popular culture, music, family activities and citizen participation in an edition marked by the anniversaries of cultural entities and projects in the municipality.

The countdown to the Festa Major de la Garriga begins, which, under the slogan "Let's be a town, let's party", will distribute proposals designed for all audiences throughout the municipality.

As usual, there will be no shortage of classic activities, such as the proclamation, the Versots, the correfocs (which this year have introduced protective tarpaulins for businesses), family activities on the Paseo, attractions (with quiet hours so that people with functional diversity can enjoy them), the HoliFM Festival, the Correaigua, the concert, dinner and dance of the Festa Major (with the Principal of La Bisbal), the sardanas, the popular race “La Garriga with women's sport”, the Esgarrinxada, the habaneras, climbing the bell tower, the Dolphin Theater, the circus show in Plaça Can Dachs...

In addition to all this, there are some new features, such as the 75-meter-long urban water slide, an activity that is being revived at the suggestion of the Àgora Jove. In fact, the Consell d'Adolescents has also proposed holding a Youth Evening, Sunday the 2nd, at Can Luna.

Also noteworthy is the monologue Locus Operandi, which Toni Albà will offer on Thursday at midnight in the Plaça de l'Església. And the opening speech, to open the festival, will be given by the artist Lo Pau de Ponts.

This edition will also be special because several entities and cultural projects in the municipality are celebrating notable anniversaries, such as the 50th anniversary of the Rondalla Puiggraciós, the 30th anniversary of the Cineclub, the 20th anniversary of the Front Diabòlic or the 10th anniversary of Els Imbècils.

And the Festa Major is possible thanks to the involvement of the entities, associations, groups, volunteers, municipal services and collaborating companies that fill the program with proposals year after year.

A poster inspired by modernism

This year's poster, by EMAD student Paula de Garay, is inspired by modernist hydraulic tiles. This is how the author of the image explained it, who wanted to make a design that plays with images "in the form of pieces, to build the Garriga".

The Espai Nits la Doma will be full of Garriga rhythms. And, precisely, the local group Els Imbècils will be the headliner this year, on Saturday night, with their fresh proposal of versions and songs from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Before that, don't miss Les que Faltaband, one of the most prominent versions bands in the country. The night will be closed by Neverita Urban Fest.

On Thursday, there will also be the rhythm of the Vaparir Tour, followed by the Cal Tiwi Festival. And on Friday, another classic: the Cocodril Club with Albert Malla. DJ Trapella will put the finishing touches.

For Festa Major, a free party

During the three nights of Festa Major, there will be a Punt Lila to raise awareness about sexist and LGBTI-phobic violence and to promote healthy relationships, and an Itinerant Couple, who will go around Espai Nits and other places in the town, to provide information about Punt Lila and detect and respond to situations of sexist violence.

The C17 Plan will also be presented with itinerant health agents and an information tent where you can find preventive material and receive advice on risky behaviors, alcohol and other drug consumption, healthy sexuality and civics.

A party designed for everyone

"We have designed a Festa Major for all ages and all interests. We want anyone to open the program and find an activity that excites them," explained the councilor for Culture and Youth, Xavier Gotanegra.

For her part, the mayor, Meritxell Budó, noted that "organizing the Festa Major requires a lot of time and a lot of work" and wanted to express her "thanks to all municipal staff and all kinds of entities that are part of it."
