Marala are the Catalan Selma Bruna, the Mallorcan Clara Fiol and the Valencian Sandra Monfort.  They are interested in tradition as a force of innovation. His songs are inspired by the present and try to honour the past. They present us with a forceful and hopeful album based on an investigation into death in traditional music.

To do this, they have heard dances of the Valencian Country, songs of death of the Balearic Islands, masses of classical deceased, the albums of Rodrigo Cuevas, Maria Arnal or Tarta Relena and many other references that have impregnated their songs.

With Pau Vallvé in the musical production and Jordi Casadesús in the sound production, the album combines synthetic sounds with other organic sounds, there are prophets and square tambourines, they sound redoble from Easter, elegies, feminist ghettos and voices play a central role.

The album has been accompanied by a tour with a very careful staging in the aesthetic field. In addition to music, costumes, scenography and the treatment of sound and lights are at the service of generating an immersive experience. Marala’s concert becomes a safe space to atone all: irreverence, recollection, macabre joke, liturgy. The universe that Marala has generated from death ends up being a wave of fresh air that widens the confines of life.

JOTA DE MORIR is Marala's second album. A song to death, revised since today, inspired by the traditions of Valencia, Catalonia and Mallorca.

A transgressive disc, mixing root and electronic, with space for grief, rage and care.

After a tour of more than 40 concerts throughout Spain, Europe and New York, Marala offers a new show.
