This week, work will be carried out to repair the left abutment of the Can Noguera bridge—an initiative that is part of the project to improve the Congost River's riparian environment.
Repair work on the left abutment of the Can Noguera bridge begins on Wednesday, September 30. The project involves underpinning this section by cleaning and clearing the area down to solid ground, and installing steel rebar anchors—secured with resin—into both the existing concrete and the bedrock. Additionally, reinforcement will be installed, formwork erected, and concrete poured to fill the eroded void.
The works, scheduled to last one week, are part of the Congost River improvement project covering the stretch between the Can Jacob bridge and the Can Noguera bridge (costing €79,000).
The improvement of the river environment was the winning proposal in La Garriga’s participatory budgeting process.
This project aims to restore the Congost River's riparian zone and improve its ecological status using nature-based solutions. Other planned actions include removing invasive species, stabilizing and restoring the embankments and levees, and planting native species.
