Waging the war from the plane of Llerona 

At the beginning of the 1930s, an Argentinian businessman passionate about aviation built a private airfield in Rosanes, between Garriga and Ametlla, the most modern of its time.

In 1937, during the Civil War, the republican army occupied this field, built a military airfield next to it, and used the entire complex in the battle against the fascist uprising. The airfield played a very important role on the Segre and Ebro fronts and, later, in the air defense of Barcelona. It also had a strong impact on the surrounding municipalities.

A decisive space in the most recent history of our country that we can present to you in all its integrity. The Rosanes airfield preserves the space and the infrastructures: the shelters, the control tower, the command buildings, the dining room, the surveillance station, the hangar, the rationalist chalet... and everything in between of a magnificent rural setting and landscape...
