A town that is born and grows thanks to the hot water and the royal road
La Garriga was born next to thermal water and grew around the medieval royal road that linked Barcelona and Vic. This path gradually transformed into the “main street” of the town. As it grew, a nucleus was formed that today revolves around three squares, Santa Isabel, Church and Can Dachs.
Currently, these last two squares and the street that links them are reserved for pedestrians and are a fantastic place to walk, buy, have a drink... and also to enjoy some of the main elements of the garrigue heritage: medieval and modern houses, modernist and Noucentista houses and, also, the church of Sant Esteve.
